The Holmes County District Public Library has numerous events scheduled for May. Call the library at 330-674-5972 for more information or to register for any of these events.

The May Take & Make Kit for Teens at the Central Library or East Branch Library has supplies to personalize an outdoor kit, honoring author Gary Paulson’s birthday.

Story time at the East Branch Library will be Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. on May 4, 11, 18 and 25 for children age 2-5 with an adult.

Preserve It by Kate for adults will be at the Central Library on Tuesday, May 10 at 6 p.m. In the first class of a three-part series, Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension services educator, will offer tips and tricks to preserving fruit. Registration is required.

Nerf Night at the Central Library will be Friday, May 13 at 6 p.m. for age 8-12. The library will supply the darts and provide Nerf blasters, or kids can bring their own. Registration and permission slips are required.

Paws to Read at the Central Library will be Saturday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to noon. Kids are invited to read to a licensed therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

Coding with Sphero Robots at the Central Library will be Tuesday, May 17 at 6 p.m. for age 7-12. Learn simple coding and then program a Sphero Robot. Registration is required.

Saturday Family Movie at the Central Library will be Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and snacks and a drink with a lid. Children must be with an adult. Call the library for the movie title, rated PG.

Movie Night for Teens at the Central Library will be Monday, May 23 from 4-7 p.m. for age 12-18. Enjoy a movie about an ancient prophecy and a magic school. Call the library for the movie title, rated PG. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

LEGO Building Challenge at the Central Library will be Thursday, May 26 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. for age 6-12. LEGOs and building ideas will be provided.

Book discussions for adults on “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman will take place Tuesday, May 31 at 1 p.m. at Central Library and at 6 p.m. at Jitters Coffee House. Books are available for checkout at the Central Library help desk.
