TuscParks will host the Birding with Kramer series on three consecutive Fridays on May 13, 20 and 27 from 8-10 a.m. Participants will travel to the different parks in the TuscParks system to explore the types of birds that live there.

Events are independent of each other, so participants can choose which ones they would like to attend. Registration is not needed. Binoculars are recommended but not a must.

To kick off the birding series on May 13, participants will gather at the Norma Johnson Center at the Conservation Kiosk on Conservation Drive near Dover.

During the second outing on May 20, participants will venture to Trenton Heritage Park at the gate on State Dam Road in New Philadelphia.

The last adventure will be May 27 at Canal Lands Park at the picnic shelter located at 8645 Dover-Zoar Road in Dover.

Dan Kramer has been birding all his life. “Dan is a wealth of knowledge,” Marsha Freeland said. “He has been birding at the center for over 15 years. He has monitored the bluebirds, banded birds, and offered several programs on birds over the years.”

These events will be held rain or shine but will be canceled in the event of severe weather. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Check with the TuscParks or the Norma Johnson Center Facebook page for updates or call TuscParks at 330-365-3278.
