On March 11 and 12, The American Legion Tuscarawas Post No. 139 of New Philadelphia held its annual Gifts for Yanks Program fundraiser at the Buehler’s Fresh Foods in New Philadelphia. Donations totaled $2,460, a new record for the Post No. 139 program.

In 1952 The American Legion Department of Ohio began this program.

The Gift for Yanks Program, as all of the American Legion programs, is completely dependent on the Legion family fundraising efforts. All contributions to this program annually impact veterans receiving care in VA facilities and Ohio Veterans Homes. All the Legionnaires assisting in The American Legion programs are volunteers.

The more success of each program fundraiser, the more The American Legion programs can serve the community, high school students and military veterans.
