Due to the recent suspension of Dover Mayor Richard Homrighausen by the Ohio Supreme Court, Tuscarawas County Probate Court Judge Adam W. Wilgus is responsible for appointing an interim mayor for the City of Dover.

Wilgus requests any interested applicants submit a resume and cover letter no later than 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 to the Tuscarawas County Probate Court, 101 East High Ave., Room 203, New Philadelphia. Applicants must be a resident of Dover.

Wilgus has assembled a committee comprised of Dover city residents that will review the resume and cover letter of all applicants interested in the interim mayor position.

The committee will make a recommendation of two of the applicants they believe would best fulfill the duties and obligations of interim mayor for Dover. Wilgus will interview those two individuals and appoint an interim mayor.

Wilgus intends for this process to be fair, thorough and efficient in determining the most suitable interim mayor for Dover.

Any further questions shall be directed to the Tuscarawas County Probate clerk’s office at 330-365-3266.
