St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dover will host two speakers over a three-day period as part of the church’s Parrish Mission. As the season of Easter continues, Katie Prejean McGrady will speak on April 24, 25 and 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Worship will be led by John Paul Von Arx.

“This is the first time they’ve been to our parish to do this,” said Brenda Stilgenbauer, pastoral associate at St. Joseph’s.

The church worked in cooperation with Franciscan University of Steubenville to secure the guests, who are in demand inside and outside the United States.

“If you’re interested in the three nights and the program, you may want to see Katie Mcgrady’s website at,” Stilgenbauer said. “She’s a very impressive speaker, and we’re pleased to have her coming to St. Joseph’s.”

The three-day event is intended to help discover the true happiness of being known intimately and loved unconditionally in the heart of Christ, according to information provided by the church. “At this special three-day event, enter into a deeper experience of Christ through inspiring talks by a renowned speaker, powerful praise and worship, and Eucharistic adoration.”

On Sunday, April 24, McGrady will lead attendees in asking the question, “Have you experienced unconditional love?” The emphasis is on knowing the love of God.

On Monday, April 25, McGrady will focus on the question, “Do you know you were made for greatness?” This day will focus on the mission of God.

On Tuesday, April 26, the final question will be “Do you understand your life’s true purpose?” This day will focus on forming disciples that are disciple makers.

McGrady is an international Catholic speaker and author of “Lent: One Day at a Time With Catholic Teens,” “Follow; Your Lifelong Adventure With Jesus,” and “Room 24; Adventures of a New Evangelist,” all available via publisher Ave Press.

She also is host of an interview format podcast called Ave Explores and hosts the Katie McGrady Show on the Catholic channel on Sirius XM. McGrady is a columnist for Catholic News Service and served as one of three delegates to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to the 2018 Pre-Synod Meeting on Young People, Faith and Vocational Discernment in Rome, Italy. She lives in Louisiana with her husband and two daughters.

The worship leader for the three-day event is Von Arx, who released a solo album in 2018. He is an advocate for people with Down syndrome and their families and is coordinator of worship at Franciscan University, where he mentors students in leading worship for themselves.

“We believe the series will be interesting and beneficial to people from their teen years on up,” Stilgenbauer said. “This promises to be a very good program, and we are excited about our two hosts and what they have to say.”

The cost for the program is $15, and reservations can be made online at Refreshments and a time for fellowship will follow each evening’s presentation.

“People will have a chance to pause a bit afterward and talk about what they’ve learned if they wish,” Stilgenbauer said.
